Introduction to Album:
It makes people think he is an ABC, America Born Chinese, growing up in a foreign country by his parents when you listen to his music at the first time. After a while, you'll surprisingly find there's a new music style on Taiwanese market. It is Jay Chou.

For strangers, he is shy and introverted. For friends, he is cute after getting familiar with him. He is like our neighbor, who is sometimes shy and doesn't talk a lot; however, he would give you lots of ideas without making any stop when you are talking to him about music. Creating songs is part of his life, which runs all the time. He can come up with melodies no matter where he is. As long as there is a piano or a guitar beside him, he can make a popular song for the public. At the age of 18, Jay made “Roof”, “Three Nights Three Days” and “You're Happier Than Before” for Jacky Wu (*Wu, Tzung-Shian), “Snail” for Valen Shiu (*Shiu, Ru-Iun), “Open Love” for Alexander Wong (Wang, Lee-Hom), and “Are You Asleep, Sister” for Vivian Shiu (*Shiu, Ruo-Shiuan), etc. Jay has been working on composing, making, and lyricizing songs as a music producer these years. Those are prospective work. He has Generation E’s characteristics. One time talking with him, he said that there was no difference between making music and voice, a guitar, and a keyboard, all of them just occupying a sound track. What he cares is “life power” with music itself and unlimited creativity. With unlimited creativity, music style can be various making people not get tired of it. The music he wants to make is the music other people haven’t made yet, easy on the ear, and excellent.

You need to do something more creative especially when the public has evolved to be excellent at listening to music. His music is imaginary, surprising, and comfortable. You can picture happiness getting rid of boundaries of space and time. Jay is the new power in Taiwanese music industry. Follow him! Get Started to another new music kingdom!

Not need to learn music in Western countries. Do more excellent work than those people studying in the Western. This is Jay Chou.

The album, “Jay”, is filled up with Jay’s high skills on making music. The track one, “Adorable Woman”, was lyricized by Vivian Shiu and composed by Jay Chou. It’s still easy on the ear although it doesn’t include the elements of a ballad. “Perfectionism” is a new and fresh music style in which Jay played piano with high skills. Another track “Wife” is a Western R&B but becomes a whole new music style has Jay’s personal style. There are R&Bs and new Hip-Hops in this album. However, they become a newly ancient English style with classical baroque background and band. The more particular part is that he even tried to put Spanish string music into the songs in the album. Surprisingly, it sounded as really as a movie background. This kind of music hasn’t appeared in Taiwan before. Nobody can anticipate what the new trend of music is. It is good music only when you create good music resonating audience. This is Jay Chou.

Vivian Shiu devoting her debut in music video to her buddy, Jay
The music video of the track one, “Adorable Woman”, was directed by Sheng Kuang. The actress was an artist named Vivian Shiu, who has never acted in others’ music videos before. She has known Jay for several years. They cooperated several times before. This time, Vivian even made time to write three lyrics in the album. She agreed with Jay to be an actress in the music video while they were making songs. The director arranged an imaginary scenario that people may figure out what was going on at the end of the music video. While watching this video, people can understand a girl Jay wanted to describe as beautiful as Vivian Shiu. “You’re so adorable that I get blush. You’re so gentle that I want to care for you. You’re so transparent touching me. You’re so bad driving me crazy.”

During the time they were making the video, Vivian stated cutely that she had helped Jay change some lines in a lyric and faxed it to him when she was in Japan. However, Jay had been playing computer games at the time and hadn’t noticed the fax. That had made her mad at him. “Istanbul” was created by Vivian while she really went to Istanbul. They can do a good job on music because they have cooperated for a long time after all. Therefore, for the reason that they banded together to make this album, this album would give music aficionados whole new enjoyment and feelings on eyes and ears.
